I had been getting a tad sloppy w/ ball striking lately and decided to focus on extensor action. I'm a new Ted Fort trained 'hitter'.... I had been doing pretty well up until a month ago or so. The last two range sessions have been pretty impressive.... the sizzle is back on the ball, the flight is reasonable straight and trajectory is more predictable ... all good things. What I'm having trouble with is there seems to be a certain 'rubber band' effect with the left arm... for lack of any other term. The stretching of the left arm by the right causes a bit of a rebound starting down. It almost feels as if the left arm starts pulling ...... the net effect is that the right arm straightening takes place later in the swing... a good thing... but I'm wondering if this feeling in the left arm is correct? Or am I mixing in some swinging....
rwh,
So you don't think I'm getting my old 'swing' confused with my new hit...A certain amount of left arm activity, or the 'feel' of activity if caused by extensor action is okay..... So far I've only focused on the extensor action to the downstroke, this wasn't hard for me since I used to have a fairly straight left arm when swinging. I want to continue to feel it through impact as per 12-3-0. Thanks.....
