Seems a tad flat at the top, wouldn't you say?

Tiger Stats
I had noticed at another Forum "experts" are very critical of Tiger's Driver accuracy and many have suggestions for a "fix". I went to the current PGA stats and noted that there are 12 players who average over 300 yards in driving distance and Tiger is 10th at 302.6 yards. Of the 12, only 2 are more accurate in driving accuracy. Tiger is 58.3% ...the 2 higher are at 63.1% and 62%. Interesting stats!

I'm not sure that stat holds a lot of weight as an indicator for how accurate those big hitters are. A drive that goes 1 inch through the fairway gets recorded as a missed fairway - no different than a drive that lands off the planet. It seems that whenever I watch an event where Tiger is using his driver a lot, he's chopping his ball out of all kinds of crazy places.

Such a big difference between 'early' Tiger and now in his pivot motion. I recall his comments on TGC regarding how he avoids 'getting stuck'

"I try to feel like my arms beat my body"

You can really see how he is in much better sequence with his arms now, a much more 'quiet' pivot. Looks a bit more like what Tomesello was suggesting (to my eye at least). Using the body/pivot as a very stable base from which to swing the arms.

I like the grip he was using on Sunday at the Open better than this one though. Better setting of the flying wedges there than here.
