Brian Gay today shot a 3-under par 68 (T-8 ) on a golf course that left Phil Mickelson, #4 in the world, at 76 and Angel Cabrerra, 2007 U.S. Open Champion, at 79.
Brian started on #10 today and promptly bogeyed the 11th. This in a league that will send you packing on Friday for that mistake. So what do you do when you're a money-making PGA TOUR player? Whine? Complain about the bad break? Or suck it up and do what you do?
In the next 16 holes, Brian reeled off twelve pars and four birdies (#13, #14, #1 and #3).
Brian teed off early today -- 8:16 local MST -- and blitzed the course with a second consecutive, four birdie, one bogey,68(-3 for the day and -6 for the tournament).
Currently T-4, he's a shoe-in for the weekend, and has a solid shot at the big prize on Sunday.

Yeah baby, go Brian!

Tied for 3rd and only 2 shots off the lead. His driving accuracy dropped...to 73.8%. I wish I could have off days like that.

Pretty cool to know he is doing it with good solid TGM fundamentals.
Working hard on swing plane
Beautifully centered, stationary head
Beautiful Rhythm and Balance
Maintaining Flying Wedges
Lag Pressure
Tracing a Straight Plane Line
Educated Hands Powered Pivot
One bullet point after another...
Watching Brian Gay get a lesson from Yoda shows the yellow book fully in action. Great stuff, that's why we are all here!

With caddy Kip Henley on the bag, Brian Gay today shot a classy 67 and moved from T-8 to T-3. With four birdies and no bogeys on the card, he's -10 for the tournament and only two off the lead. http://www.pgatour.com/leaderboards/...003/index.html
Unlike many of his PGA TOUR brethren, Brian has proven he is not afraid to 'go low'. Let it happen tomorrow!
