There's not much difference between pitch and punch. Pitch allows the right elbow to pass in front of the right hip for delayed release is about the only difference.
The big difference is in Push which is like putting. The hands never get outside the elbow. The elbow leads, straight back and up, straight down and out, like pulling a lawn mower cord.
Both Pitch and Punch can start up with right forearm takeaway tracing the plane line, up/back/in simultaneously which produces a fan-like motion around the right elbow, which is also in motion, just not as fast.
Maybe you're thinking of the different loading angles between hitting and swinging at the top. Either the Jeff Hull or Ted Fort address routine videos have this in them.
The pitch elbow is pointing more down, the punch is more back.
If you're going to execute a punch stroke you're probably angle hinging (with the ball back and clubface closed down) so "feel no roll" in the backstroke and you'll have it.
If you're going to use pitch elbow you're probably horizontal hinging and you'll feel like a roll, so turn it on plane in the backstroke and the elbow will point down.
Oh, the video on YouTube called "Pressure point #3 Where are you?" demonstrates it.
