Thanks man,
I felt the weight of the world having to make it for my mentor, Yoda. And, I'd told Ben I was the best putter he'd ever seen. So, missing wasn't an option. I was going to will that ball in the hole even if I yipped it. My reputation was in the balance.
The school was great fun and we had an awesome group of guys. Mike is the reason that all the great moments were caught on tape. There were hundreds of moments like this one. We owe a ton to him and his work.

Great pressure putt, Ted.

Full audience, camera rolling, Brian monitoring the Precision Alignments and expecting "Houston we have a problem" or "so disappointed" from Ben should you have missed it.

I can testify that Ted does not even need a putter to putt. During the playing lesson in Destin he used his wedge or hybrid - with a far better average than anyone using his putter.

That actually hurt a bit. .... but not more than missing out on August 26-28, 2005.

I am curious about whether you recall what was on your mind as you swung at it. Did you ClearKey, go blank, focus on alignments or what?

What was the putt for? It looked like u were on a practice green.

And what was Brian Manz. checking when he was "plum-bobbing" in the background?

We were on the practice green, chipping with Ben. Then Brian discussed a pro’s way of knowing what the break is on any given putt by knowing what the pure straight up and down 180 degree line is for the hole and then because of extensive practice, know how the ball lying on the green will break. After Brian talked, Ted dropped a ball and talked about his putting stroke, how he reads and aims his putt, etc. Ted knows putting like he knows “Hitting.” He had 11 putts for nine holes the day before on the course after a long day of teaching.
After about an 20 mins of instruction and questions answered, the ball was still lying there. Lynn said, putt it out, Ted walked it off, took a reading, stepped up to the ball and with all eyes on him, including that of Blake, Doyle and Manzella, sunk the putt.

Brian was watching to see if Ted’s shoulders stayed in a straight vertical up and down line. Ted mentioned he likes to think that if his right shoulder had a pen on it, It would draw a straight vertical line. He it does.
