Help with driver "pushes"
I have been working on bringing the right arm to Impact with some remaining bend in it. Then finishing the Drive off of the right shoulder, through the ball. Whew! Does that feel great and the ball travels with even more authority. As usual, I do fine in Basic and Aquired. It's a little wobbly as I get to the longer clubs with the Total Swing.
But when I get to the driver, it goes dead straight right. Not next fairway right, just well into the rough right. I'm used to going crossline after the inside quad of the ball and it heads straight down the middle. Now it goes straight on the visual Angle of Approach Line direction.
I have checked my Plane (right shoulder, forearm, clubshaft) on a down the line vid and it looks OK. Mitigating factor: I have zeroed my Pivot while I work on the Package (Extensor Action). I preset my hips at Address cleared. This was OK, until I improved extending through the ball.
I know this is a question for an AI with his eyeballs on me, but I was hoping somebody could direct me to potential culprits. My gut tells me I'm catching the Hinge at a different point in it's Action?

Ball position would be the first place I'd check, then alignment, plane and clubface.

Thanks for the thoughts. Ball position and alignment are formulaic for me and my routine is fairly effective. But denial is not a river in Egypt, so I'll triplecheck them. I'll get on the launch monitor, too. That will give me the real deal on Approach and clubface at Impact. It's just odd because the ball goes dead straight (right). I used to get a straight flight with a tiny drift to the right from the Hinge layback. The drift is gone, too.

Shoulder alignment could also be off, too much to the right. It can be easy to do this when making 'crossline' a swing though, especially on the course. It could simply be that you are not aimed where you think you are potentially because your head isn't centered and your 'view' of your alignments has shifted (too far back/too much tilt at address). Impossible to say without seeing it.

Yeah, I realize it's tough without seeing it. I appreciate the suggestions though. I have a round tomorrow and we'll check face-on and down the line with a better vid camera than I have. It has to be something I'm doing because the target point is farthest away, or because it's the longest club/radius.
