Copy Arnold Palmers Stroke???
Would it be wise to emulate Arnold Palmer's pattern?

I was watching an old video of his called 'Golf Strategy' and his stroke is really efficient even with the 'whirlybird' finish.

I would think unless you are built like Palmer and have the strength, it might not be effective to copy it.

Copying others strokes is always, always a bad idea.

The real fun is in creating your own.

I'm way stronger than him in his prime. I played football and lift weights using compound movements.

I don't think that copying is always bad.

I gotta agree with these guys man.

Just like it would be unwise for Arnie to copy Ernie....

I think it's most important to work with your natural tendencies.

If they happen to be like Arnie then it's not as bad....but a carbon copy is kinda sketchy IMO.

1. You have to understand exactly what he does. (not as easy as it seems)

2. It has to be right for you.

Good luck.

Its not just a strength issue.

Do you:

- Have the same physical dimensions as The King?

Two people of different physical proportions can demonstrate
the exact same pattern and they will look completely
different. This is why golf swings are like finger prints -
they are never the same.

- Have the same level of hand-eye coordination as The King?

- Have The King's 'Hitch the pants and go for broke' mentality?

Of course this is but just a few points why we should not be copying swings...

Well, I don't know you so I can't comment on your strength....but Gary Player told a story about Arnold once.. he took Arnold on a tour of a gold mine in SA. The tour guide showed them a room of gold bars and said if you can pick one up with one hand you can keep it.... In all the tours over the years no one had come close to accomplishing it... Arnold did it. He had exceptionally strong hands. No..they didn't let him keep it.

The real issue here, imo, is why copy someone..anyone? Be yourself...Arnold's impact is great, you can look at that as a goal but TGM gives you a bunch of options to fit yourself, and the game is tough enough without limiting yourself.
