Hand controlled Pivot
Recently her Britannic majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, celebrated her official birthday...it is celebrated by "Trooping the Colour"...looks something like this:-

It gave me idea of how the hands control the pivot...I have not done much marching and this may not be the way it happens in real world...but just stick with the ideas...

Imagine you are in the front rank and just about to start marching. If the front right guy marches first and then the guy to his left notices, out the corner of his eye, that the front row right man moved and so he moves...then the guy to his left notices etc...If you were the guy front left you would be significantly delayed and the line would not be straight...even worse if you were going round a corner...

Does the hand-controlled pivot work in this fashion...the hands (front row left) only moving when the lag pressure is conciously experienced and message then sent out to hands when this has occured...if so ...I can imagine that the hands could get out of step(sequence) with the feet/hips (front row right man)...or hands get "stuck behind you"?

Now imagine that you are the hands (man front left) and you have drilled so much that you know exactly when and how the front row right guy will step forwards...you march in synch and you corner better...

Is this the way that the hands control the pivot?

The hands are PRE-programmed to move in a specific manner, albeit to fire a split second after the hips have fired...ie. the hands are not given their assignment when the the lag pressure is experienced....they are programmed at the same time as the hips...just PREprogrammed to fire a spit second later...and lag pressure is experienced as a secondary phenomenon.

This might be the way in which one can consciously think/feel that you are moving the hands themselves...whilst they are being biomechanically being pulled ( and observed to be pulled) by the pivot?

Remember this is in the LAB...just "Gedanking"...

Oh my God! "Her Britannic Majesty". Alf Garnett would be crying in his Beer at this spectacle. Better even than his beloved West 'Am.

The educated hands instigate the response required from the "hands controlled pivott".

In other words, the hands know where they need to go and the pivott's job is to assist them to get there.

That's right, I'm just giving another way for the concept to be visualised...and a chance to celebrate our Monarch's birthday... so sad that the "Empress of India" title had to be given up when we decided that a nation the size of India had the right to independent government...

Pick your own emoticon clusters ...

Jacking my own thread...Lesson about Alf Garnett

Watch this ... if you laugh...ask did you laugh with Alf...or at Alf?

Most people laugh at and with him...

The writer (Johnny Speight) knew what he was doing...sadly dead now (nearly 10 years ago). He was not a racist but people often misunderstood his humour. He used humour to highlight racism, politics, injustice, prejudice etc...if you do not know this series but wish to understand post war UK then enjoy.

Also....the long haired "scouser" in the pink/orange shirt is Tony Blair's father in law... ( same Tony Blair who was UK Prime Minister).

Small world...but enjoy
