I'm just starting to look into TGM and wading through the book at the moment, but having trouble working out exactly whether I'm hitting or swinging. Hopefully someone can offer some guidance.
I've always thought I was a swinger and any feeling of using the right arm has caused problems. However, even when playing well I have had some problems in striking down through the ball with a drag feeling coming through the left hip, shoulder & arm - often feel like I'm standing up through the swing and sometimes hitting thin and pushed.
At the moment I'm hitting the ball well and the club feels heavy through impact, but I no longer feel that I'm dragging the club with the left shoulder. Nor am I hitting with the right arm. Instead, the power seems to be coming from a rotation of the upper body (the middle of my back below the shoulder blades is being worked) and both arms seem to do nothing through the swing. Right shoulder feels like its coming through on plane and really down into the ball. Distance & trajectory are good with a slight draw.
Although I am quite happy with the results & feel, can anyone shed any light on whether I'm swinging or hitting or a combination of both?
Thanks for any help. Hoping to become more proficient with TGM
