He's Off!
On a very rough day at RBGC, LBG player Jay Williamson has just parred the first hole of his first Open Championship. With the leader currently at -1, Jay is T3.
Good luck, Jay!

Hangin' Tough
Jay Williamson is now +3 through 10 and T37.

No birdies yet. For the field, they are few and far between . . .
But they're out there.

In the Books
Jay's first round in the 137th Open Championship is done. He shot a very respectable 73 (+3) and is T27.

Lynn, I thought I saw somewhere that Jay has Dave Musgrave on his bag this week. Pretty good Mojo working there. Can you confirm? Musgrave has a lot of Major flags on his wall.

He texted me from RBGC and was excited about being there, but he didn't say anything about his caddy. So, I'm no help on this one. Sorry!

Extended Stay At Royal Birkdale
Jay today shot 72 and made the +9 cut with ease. He is +5 for the championship and T22.
Top 4 and ties earn a Masters invitation*.
Go Jay!

Need Some 'Big Mo' Tomorrow
On another wild and windy day, Jay is in at 77, +12 for the tournament and T35. Greg Norman is at +2 and leads by 2, so there's work to do.

Blood in the Water
Jay is having an incredible Open...stumbled a bit today on #8 but with the wind conditions the course is playing unbelievably hard. Got to love what the Shark is doing...for us over 50 guys it is truely inspiring golf. Tommorrow is going to be very exciting for both Jay and Greg and with wind conditions the same as today you never know what can happen.
