guys I have a HUGE issue with my address alingment. I cant get square.
with most shots, longer irons/driver especially I get to setting up open. Which produces a weaker cut/flare. It is killing me. Me either flare it or it is a 30 yard pull.
but the kicker is if I get some one to stand behind me and line me up, I hit it dead to my target. Issue is, I cant do it on my own.
PLEASE help me fix this. I have tried dowels on the ground during range sessions which help a little but when I get to the course I cant use this aid.
I have a tourny in 2 weeks and am working very hard becuase I think I have a great shot at winning, but I need to be in top form!
any info or drills are VERY much needed and welcomed!!

Make sure you have a strong sense of the plane line you intend to trace. Afterall you going to be square to something...it may as well be the base of your plane! At times I will use my shaft as a "ruler" of sorts (I notices that Brian Gay does the same) I really try soak in the chosen plane line with my peepers. It is EVERYTHING...all loading...storing...releasing...hinging is done on plane. Another thing that has helped me is to think in terms of setting up perpindicular to the straight plane line, especially with the shoulders. As far as my feet go I am not overly concerned. Foot flare makes it tough to set up perfectly square, and you can trace a straight plane line from an open, or closed stance which of course changes the nature of the pivot not neccessarily the direction of the shot. Moe played a straight line through the course...so should we!
Of yes there is a great line up tip in the drills dvd.
Basically line up your target with the clubhead then put the right foot square to the line, bring the left foot up, then drop the right foot back.

thanks guys great Ideas adn facts.......I always used the "ben Dolye walk in" ....right on the line left across the line then right back for balance.
have done A LOT of work this week........in fact I even did the "ole greg norman" where he came in really closed then squared up, and actually that helped, since I was battling getting way open............
really sad I had to re teach myself square set-up....but I guees every part of the machine needs a little greasing every now and again!
