I use it to swing back with my center and and it hinges at the top, then I bring it down to the release point. From there I just turn away and it flies out and hits my impact bag. My biggest problem is from the top to release point sometimes I get a little to anxious and it flies out more like a sweep release. I have seen Tom tomasello's dvd and notice he has one also but his has leather to act as the hinge and he really whips it through.
