The motion of the club is all that matters. The club is the boss.

What some of these swings 'may' lack in power is made up for by a very stable center and solid impact alignments. While I think that getting narrow on the backswing does have trade offs, as long as the hands know how to move around the circle and get to impact and follow through, the ball doesn't care how you get there.
