It's Plane to See
 

Here are two pictures of Brian Gay practicing with Yoda in the Swamp. The first picture shows Brian half way back on the backswing where his shaft plane has become parallel to the base of his swing plane. The second picture is Brian nearing his end of swing position...one more frame and the shaft plane again becomes parallel to the base of his swing plane. Interesting stuff.:)

On-Line and In-Line
 

Thanks, hg. And check out those Flying Wedge alignments -- Clubshaft in-line with the Left Arm and supported by the right -- in both photos!

Base of swing Plane
 

For a hitter, would the base of the swing be
pointing a little to the right of the target
line/parallel plane line? Does not the base
of the plane change? I certainly do not
question Brian's swing or Yoda teaching The
question is more for my understanding than
for critical comments.

The Hitting (12-1-0) and Swinging (12-2-0) Stroke Patterns share the same #5 Component Variation, namely, the Square Plane Line (10-5-A). Hence, they share the same Baseline. Only the Thrust -- Muscular or Centrifugal -- varies.

The Hitter's Baseline changes only when he adopts the Angle of Approach procedure (2-J-3-B). That is a whole 'nother kettle of fish, one evidenced by a search of the significant body of knowledge on this site.

"Clubshaft in-line with 3. the Right Arm and supported by the left" for the bottom one and 4. both arms at "Follow-Through" (or both-arm-straight and -crossed)?
