Hinge Pins - Pics

Notice the Hinge Pin of Yoda's Hinge Machine is always positioned "vertical" or perpindicular to the associated plane of it's intended motion..

Notice a "vertical" pin to the horizontal plane of the ground or floor...

Thus what's called a Horizontal Hinge...

Notice a "vertical" pin to the Inclined Plane...

Thus what is called An Angled Hinge...

Notice a "vertical" pin to the Vertical Plane of the wall

Thus what is called a Vertical Hinge...

Pins are always vertical to what ever plane they are associated to...the blade swings in a circle around the pin ....the motion of the blade represents the motion of it's plane ...the associated plane

Nice pics.

I know that this is picky, but techincally the pins are perpendicular to the plane. Vertical is normally as defined as right angles to the horizon. I think it makes it a bit easier and clearer and accurate.

Another classic picture...

Thanks Annikan for another classic picture...

And because the "horizontal" and "vertical" pictures are both shown on the inclined plane like the angled hinge, we have dual horizontal and dual vertical hinging. The "dual" comes from the fact that another hinge is needed to drop the clubshaft onto the inclined plane that we golfers use.

Dead on.....Matt ..The metal "strap hinge" lowers the shaft to the Inclined Plane...

Primary Hinge...Clubface
Strap Hinge....Clubshaft
