Courses in Destin,FL

My daughter will be doing an internship in Destin,Fl this summer prior to college graduation in early August. She will be at the Sandestin Beach Resort(or some name like that) so I will obviously be making a trip down to "visit" and hit the local courses. She tells me this place has 4 courses!! Anybody been there or familiar with the area? Other course suggestions? Good places to eat? Thanks, Dave

Played 9 holes with Yoda, YodasLuke and Henning(!) on http://www.emeraldbaygolfclub.com during the Bash at Destin. Would not mind playing there again.

The real expert is golfingrandy (Destin resident). He took us to two places. The Crab Trap and a decent fajitas joint.

I'd have dinner at the Crab Trap any day. The Maine lobster was something.

Here's your coupon.

Thanks Fredrik for giving me the heads up regarding this post.

You are a true friend.

Dave,

My name is Randy and I am involved in several businesses in the Destin area and to name a few they are, Emerlad Bay Golf Club, Seascape Resort which includes 18 hole course, 2000 feet of beach, Whales Tail, Pizza Hut and if I would allow several more would suck me in but...........NOT GONNA DO IT.

Sandestin is an awesome facility and in a couple weeks will host the Boeing Senior event. If she is working in golf she will no doubt be working under Greg who is a very nice gentleman.

Other courses of interest would be Kelly Plantation (Couples course) and Regatta Bay. If you come into town for play, several courses have arrangements with the heads and beds groups. For example, I have an arrangement with ResortQuest whereby you can get 20% off at both our courses. If you stay at Seascape you can get an amenity card which gives 40% off golf as well as a discout at Whales Tail.

With your daughter being in golf at Sandestin, several other opportunities may be afforded you through her association with work.

I will pass on my email for it is only times like this that I have a chance to visit this forum. Just to darn busy. I can be reached at info@seascaperesort.org . I would be happy to answer any other questions you may have.

As for places to eat:

Copper Grill is awesome
Bonefish
Harbor Docks
Seagars (Very high end)

Just to name a few but I can give more details later if you need.

Sincerely

Randy Sparks

I am sure Randy will agree that Burt Pines and Camp Creek are also awesome courses in the area. You can't go wrong with Kelly Plantation, Regatta Bay, Emerald Bay, The Raven, Burnt Pines and Camp Creek. I'll be there for the 4'th of July.
