MP-32 with NSPro 950 Shaft
Before i changed to the current new set of MP-32 with NSPro 950 shaft, i was playing with MP-33 with DG shaft. I think i pick the wrong shaft as i can't feel the club head now. Feel like nothing!!! Is re-shafting an only way?:BangHead:

Don't Bang Head => Add Weight

Basically, replacing DGs with NS950s has reduced the overall weight of each iron by roughly 25 - 30 grams. Most of the time when a change like this is done, the clubmaker will have to add tip weight to bring the swingweight back up (I don't know how yours were done) or make the clubs a little longer (1/2" maybe - not recommended unless it fits your swing). Post shaft installation, you can add weight to the heads with lead tape. This will boost the swingweight, but your overall weight will still be lighter than the DGs. The added weight will give you more feel of the clubhead during the swing as well as soften the flex slightly. Try experimenting with your favorite iron and add a 2" strip of lead tape one at a time. Hit plenty of balls in between strips of tape. At some point you should start feeling the head and, hopefully, start striking the ball more consistently. Add the same amount of tape to all your irons and tweak each for the feel you desire. The pros do this sort of thing all the time, BTW. Good luck! |

Actually, i am also thinking of re-shafting. I went to driving range and try in between Wishon Series 5 Steel Shaft and Dynamic Gold, the club fitter said i hit better with Wishon's one. However, someone told me that the tip dia. of series 5 is .037. Any suggestion on shaft? I hit my 7 iron 160 yards quite consistently. |
Get Fitted in You Can (Highly Recommended)

In general I would guess you could go a little stiffer than a regular, but stiff might be too much. Something in between might work well. It really depends on how you load the shaft. If you are smooth, then the softer flex will work great. If you get a little more violent as you start down, a stiffer flex will let you hit the ball a bit straighter. |
I suggest that you see a clubfitter. May I suggest someone who is a member of the Professional Clubmakers Society.
Have him or her review every item of your existing club set and examine your swing and ball flight. This will give you a base line from which to change inorder to achieve your goal. Your time and money will be well spent. Getting opinions from your friends and the fellows at the driving range will be hit or miss at best. Quote:
