Approximating Lowpoint

I am looking for ideas on how to teach someone to locate low point. I typically raise my left arm to low point on the horizontal plane then down to low point on the inclined plane...then align my left heel to approximately where low point is...then position the ball relative to my left heel. Is there a more efficient procedure for accomplishing this?

1. Dowel for plane line

2. player to be at "fix"

3. Dowel "plumbed" vertical to the ground from the left shoulder

4. Lay vertical dowel from left shoulder down on the ground perpendicular to the plane line dowel

Never tried it . . . . but it may work . . . approximately . .. or not.

holla!

All over the map

I have attempted a version of what you detailed...thanks, although you made a distincition that a lot of people forget...start from fix, not adjusted address. I even created a pvc dealy-do (like duct tape, marvelous stuff!) where the vertical (low point indicator) is attached to the horizontal (plane line.) It leans against the left shoulder on an inclined plane, I then allow it to fall to my feet, then I match the inside of my left heel to it.

I conducted a little experiment the other day. I set up to 10 x 9 irons 10 x 5 irons and 10 x drivers. The point was to see how accurate I am at positioning the ball club to club relative to low point. The percentage was alarmingly low:(with the exception of the driver, my irons were all over the place (at least the right side of low point!) I guess a manipulative swinger can get away with it somewhat, but I think more precision is needed.

Make an impact station out of two dowels at 90*to one another -one along the plane line and one at the perpendicular line of the anticipated ball position.
Place a tee peg at the ball location -remove dowels .
Now swing away .
Did you hit the tee peg and take divot afterwards?
Do the same drill -BUT FOCUS ON LOOKING AT THE INSIDE QUARTER OF THE BALL WITHOUT MOVING YOUR HEAD -FOCUS!.
Not up or down or to the side -KEEP IT STILL.
Report on results-please:salut:

What...no ball?

This is sans the ball? Then with the ball?
