Rotated vs Standard Shoulder Turn 10-13
 

Wathing video clips of Tiger and Sergio both seem to use a rotated shoulder turn versus Standard (flat). Yet Homer says that the shiftless hip turn is compatible or "nomraly confined" to the rotated shoulder turn. The shiftless hip turn tends toward a "soft stroke".
How do Tiger and Sergio hit it so far with the rotated shoulder turn or do I have it wrong?

Im not looking at photos right now but would have to say that Tiger has axis tilt and comes down on much steeper shoulder plane than he goes back on.


Now the Stack and Tilt guys are a different story. How does that jibe with Homers "soft strokes" note? What about the One Planers? They both have some great players on tour.

Tiger and Sergio - looks to me like rotated shoulder turn versus flat.

Those are kinda shorter shots where they have their weight left and dont need that much hip slide for axis tilt (to tilt their shoulders, which allows an on plane move of the right shoulder).

But whatever, your question in regard to Homers advise re rotated being for "soft shots" is a good one. There are Stack and Tilt friends here so we might not get an adverse opinion on it from our gentlemen members.

But lets rip into the one planers. Just kidding.
