Knee pain

After practice or play I have pain on the outside of forward knee.
This gives 3 options.
How to treat?
Surgery?
Or quit.
Any suggestions for 70 year old knees?

Would a Knee Brace help?

Does flaring your forward foot outwards, about 45*, help take any pressure of the side of your knee?

Thanks for the suggestion, I will try to find a brace or sleeve that is of minimal bulk.

Have always played with a flared forward foot at address, this may account for going so long, hitting so many balls, and playing regularly, and just now breaking down.
