question: an old fashioned launch monitor?
Many years ago, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, I was told that if I placed an iron on the ground and stepped on the face with my foot, when the iron came up (sorta like stepping on the teeth of a rake-- ouch), the angle of the shaft would be the angle the ball would take leaving the club face. So I could tell for instance if I had tree limbs or something in front of me whether an 8 or 7 iron say would nip the branches. You know, all these years I've kinda used it as a guide. Is there anything to it?
Thanks. Redan |

I don't know if there is technically, but I often use that visual when figuring out how to get out of trouble/fairway bunker lips.... the visual alone is worth it. Keeps those 'educated hands' controling your trajectory. |
