Who Needs #2 and #3 ?

That is my question!

Who Needs accumulators #2 and #3?

1-L doesn't have them.

They don't provide any advantage. Do they? How do they do that? geometry? Physics?

Ps. I better edit in that means ZERO #2 and #3 before that is added by (??????)

The only reason you would add either or both #2 and #3 accumulators is if you want to hit it out of your shadow... :)

Chapter 6 should help connect the dots.

My apologies. I will stay out of your threads from here on in. Good luck.

Apologies not necessary.
1-L , the machine simply does not require #2 or #3

Couldn't you apply this to any of the accumulators?

I mean who needs #4, you could just use #1 and the machine would still work.

Isn't the idea the more accumulators the more power?

The Machine of 1-L is a model which reveals the basic geometry of a Hinge Action of an Angular Motion on an Inclined Plane, only. The basics of geometrically compliant golf. It displays many things, the Arc of Approach for instance but is not intended to be a robot golfer that we are supposed to emulate exactly or anything of that nature.

You could further simplify the Machine down to a less illustrative but geometrically compliant model using just a short length of stove pipe wire. By bending it in different ways it would reveal all three Basic Hinge Actions (Single Horizontal, Angled , Single Vertical) The Arc of Approach Delivery Line etc etc. But would that suggest we should swing like a bent piece of wire? Of course not. But the geometry it reveals is profound.

Just my opinion

My opinion:
You don’t need them. Giving up the 10% +/- club head speed for the control and ability to work the ball makes 2, 3 application and their associated alignments advantageous.

Would be impossible to swing a golf club without using the number 2 and 3, wouldn't it? Would take an octopus not to perhaps. Just a matter of whether you are going to effectively use them.

Let's assume you've removed the Wobbles from your Pivot. Now it's time to remove them from your Power Package.

There's a PGA Professional Teacher near me that specializes in Youth Golf. It's a common practice of his to have the student remove wrist cock from their swing until they learn to strike the Ball without it. It looks like an extended "Basic Motion" stroke. The Right Elbow isn't allowed to bend more than it's address bend and the swing doesn't normally travel beyond a few feet.

It's fun to watch the kids "Get-It" with the #3 Accumulator. When their #3 Accumulators get smoothed out you can see the Pivots increased travel and the Ball is beginning to be struck pretty well.
