EdZ's Swing

Here are a few clips of my swing from Orange County National with Lynn and Ted.

The first is a 'hit' and the second a 'swing'

A touch more lateral movement than I'd like.

Edz

I noticed or at least to me that your ball position seems to be toward your trail foot. When looking at your swing from the front view, the ball looks like it is off your right cheek. Is this what you are seeing or feeling when you set-up to the ball? :D

Thanks,

I do tend to play the ball back a bit more than some, however in this case there was a 'lot' of wind and I was doing so intentionally, especially with the 'hit' swing (the first of the sequence) - it was basically a punch with a slightly hooded clubface. Ball positoin and alignment are two of the areas I try to monitor, because I tend to get closed with the ball back too much if I don't.

Nice action Ed! The compression sounds really great. And I can clearly see the differences in your hit vs. swing.

Do you play with both?

Thanks Edz...I had thought that maybe you were intentionally having the ball towards the back of your stance. It did look windy in the video. I was curious more than anything else if you purposely play the ball there or if it was part of your normal setup. IMO your hit/swing look great swing!! :D

I am almost always swinging. Windy days, low escape shots and some short game shots are the only times I'll hit. I find that my game is much better when I stick to the rhythm of swinging. When I hit, I tend to get quick. I really try to swing my hands like a rock on a string. It keeps me smoooooth and I just can't get much consistency out of my tempo hitting.
