Peace And Goodwill To All In The TGM Family
It has been probably better than a year since I have heard the term 'cult' and TGM on various forums. This is IMO a remarkable improvement. In fact where once on forums that just the mentioning of TGM would create bashing name calling, now discussions are happening and people, other than TGM advocates are asking more and more. These are changes for good....

In the past 18 months we have witnessed the interest, the activity surrounding TGM be elevated to levels not seen before. We have at least 3 INTERNET forums where we can discuss TGM from concepts to practical application. On those forums the level of knowledge is unparalleled to any other golf forums IMO.

We are very fortunate to have AIs participate, some who were trained by Mr. Kelley himself, others who learned directly from those who were trained by Mr. Kelley. We have access to golf instructors who have made their living in golf and over the years gain invaluable experience. All of this is being made available to us.

And we have The Golfing Machine, by Homer Kelley.

I think about this from time to time and consider, at least myself, to be very lucky. How many other golfers can go to a forum or a few forums and learn about golf, get answers to questions, and have opportunities to meet and work a group of this nature?

Here even yet a better question I have for the group, How many of you can have access on near a daily basis with proven golf instructors who for the most part are AIs or very knowledgeable in TGM to assist each in their effort to better develop their own golf stroke? Increase their knowledge based on tried an proven instruction? How many of us have pros available at our own course that can match the quality we have here?

Homer Kelley's legacy, The Golfing Machine lives on in each of us as demonstrate the value it has to us and we share with others. It is the demand for Authorized Instructors, Instructors who have build their golf stroke knowledge that they teach based on The Golfing Machine that will grow this legacy. It is not instructors touting they are an AI and they teach based on tenets of The Golfing Machine.

Again we are all very fortunate in what we have available to us. And with this 'gift' that each of us has been given goes the responsibility to act accordingly, share it, pass it on and support those type of efforts. We must also recognize that some who have provided this gift to us will also move forward to make their own name and build their career. This is not at all in conflict with Homer Kelley's philosophy IMO, after all was it not Homer who said it is your swing, not mine or someone else? Same with building on this knowledge and creating Paul Pro's Swing Method, it is more than likely a composite. I know of only one instructor (there may be others but my world is limited) that IMO truly teaches TGM as a method, actually two. I know of many who teach golf who have based their teaching methods on TGM. All of these instructors that I know of seem to be able to teach beyond just their preferred method. The are IMO the true AI, a golf stroke troubleshooter, not method x fixer.

I would add, I wonder how many when they discuss 'educated hands' think about Henry Cotton or credit him with this concept?

In closing I have been very fortunate to meet or talk with a number of the contributors to the forums, AIs, Teaching Professionals, Students of the Game and all seem to have a very genuine interest and passion for the game and for The Golfing Machine. If I haven't lately told y'all...thanks. I appreciate the sharing of knowledge, the discussions and help.

Here is to 2006 a bigger and better year for all.
