i've confused myself...
i start the swing as a swinger on the backswing, and then on the downswing i think i've begun using a hitting procedure. i have now taken up hitting the shank with the shorter irons. utilizing the seach function, i have seen many explanantions that this procedure switch in the middle may be the case.

i've been trying lately to keep my back to the ball longer and, in effect, convince my right shoulder to move down plane towards the ball. sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn't. the latest round showed a push of the driver and a very concerted effort in my brain for the delivery line roll. i don't remember having to effort so much to accomplish the task.

any suggestions on how to convince my brain back into a swinger's downswing? i sometimes paralyze myself with the various do's and don'ts. all help is appreciated.

You may be well under plane, hard to say without seeing your move. Practice slow motion backswings with your back up against a wall. Also, check your grip at impact fix, it may be way too weak.
