Could someone help me with understanding 7-2 with this sentence here....
"Because for Impact Clubface alignment control, Hitters should rotate their Grip but not their plane line at address, while Swingers should rotate their Plane Line but not their Grip."
My take would be that since the Hitter typically employs Angled Hinging that Layback must be a consideration. Therefore on longer shots the clubface should be closed at address/fix and thereby changing the grip. There is a great thread in the ARCHIVES where Lynn tells the story of how Larry Nelson (a Hitter) begins his practice by "figuring out" how much his Clubface should be set open at address.
The Swinger on the otherhand must adjust the Plane Line to the Line of Flight to effect curvature.
I could be way of on this . . . I am such a dingleberry.
BTW.....yes it's in reference to clubface alignment at Impact.
Weaker grip means simply more open at Impact, right?
Stronger = closed.
That would be how a Hitter works the ball I believe.
Swingers open or close body lines (feet, shoulders) and swing along those open or closed body lines (changes the Plane Line in relation to Target Line).
I figured a vet' like you would know this stuff Matt!
Hehe just buggin man.
