In short, this was some of the best golf instruction I’ve ever had. Lynn, Ted & Lee are some of the nicest people you’ll ever meet and I was lucky enough to be involved in this class with 6 other great people.
The PGA of Southern California was a great teaching venue and the weather couldn’t have been better.
I’ve taken lessons from about a half a dozen different instructors in the last 5 years and I always seem to take something useful away from each person. The big difference is that each one of these instructors only showed me one piece of the elephant based on some evaluation of my swing at the time. How that piece might fit into the grand scheme of a swing was never clearly explained.
Lynn (Yoda) & Ted (Yodasluke), along with the little yellow book, show you the entire elephant from trunk to tail and take you through your own assembly process.
We were 7 students with 3 instructors; Lynn Blake, Ted Fort & Lee Deitrick.
Friday AM – We spent Friday morning delving into the little yellow book in some detail which Yoda interprets extremely well for you. This was a very useful session all by itself.
Friday PM – We worked on basic and then acquired motions. The TGM “basic” chipping motion is an improvement over my old method and helped to introduce me to the number one pressure point. I never really got the hang of the “swivel” that is added to create the “acquired” motion but that is something I can work on over the winter. I felt it a couple of times and then lost it. We also worked on the three different hinge actions.
We had our present swings taped for later analysis and discussion.
Sat AM – We again delved into the little yellow book in preparation for the full swing.
Sat PM – We worked on the full swing along with some work in the sand.
Sun AM – We all had our videos analyzed and where told what pieces we needed to work on. We also reviewed two different TGM putting methods on the putting green.
Sun PM – We worked on our swings until sunset while Lynn, Ted & Lee provided one-on-one instruction
What I need to work on:
I need to get "on plane" and tracing the plane with the right forearm along with the "extensor action" is helping me to do that. I also then need to eliminate my over the top move as part of my start down. Finally, I need to incorporate the release swivel with a flat left wrist to complete the picture.
What’s missing?
It would have been nice to end up with a list of specific drills for my "issues". I took a lot of notes during the classroom session and none out on the range.

YodasLuke has since provided me with a list of drills to start with.
There was no “after” video to help provide encouragement for the rest of your journey. I saw improvement with everyone of the students who attended. You could actually HEAR the improvement while you were hitting balls…
They didn't give me a great Star Wars nickname at the end.
YMMV
