Tom Ness in GD
Tom Ness had his Golfing Machine revved up full blast in Golf Digest this month. Turning and rolling, flat left wrists, bent right wrists, hit the inside of the ball and bottom of the arc- vrooom.
Check out the use of a spatula for a right wrist bend into impact. Maybe we have to hit Kitchen Kappers after Home Depot now. =D> :P

I was thumbing through the March issue of GD and just hit the section by Mr. Ness---I agree 6bmike. Is this guy a TGM AI or has he read the book and been lurking at the TGM sites???

Mr. Ness is a G.S.E.M.. He was the Georgia P.G.A. Teacher of the Year a couple of years ago I think. In his early years he was an assistant for Davis Love Jr.. He learned much of his TGM from Mr. Doyle.

Thanks guys---that certainly explains his article! I wonder why he and some other instructors (Chuck Cook, etc) that are TGM trained don't ever mention this in their articles??? Is TGM still that controversial? (I'm not a bif forum poster so if this is what the term threadjacking means I apologize. Just seemed like a logical place to post it)

Tom Ness wrote his first Golfing Machine related article for Golf Digest in the December 1996 issue. Ness wrote the lead (cover) story entitled "Get in Position A" (How to Upgrade Your Impact). In the same issue, Ness gives all the credit to The Golfing Machine and Ben Doyle. Doyle was the one that got him interested in TGM. All subsequent articles always have TGM as its roots.

TGM Coming!
You know, the last few issue of GD have had some AIs that have been using more and more terminology.

(1) Martin Hall in Golf Mag talking about bent right wrist
(2) Chuck Cook in GD talking of impact being down, out and forward
(3) Now Chuck Ness...

I don't think many of these three have ever hidden that they are AIs, although most people may not know it. I wonder if all of the closet AIs (don't mean this to be a slam to these guys) are potentially seeing TGM get a bit bigger and louder....thus, a few more hints (albeit not directly saying this is from Homer) that use the TGM vocabulary.

Very interesting...

I think all of these teachers are listed on the TGM site as AIs.
Tom Ness is actually the correct name.

There are a lot of AIs that like to keep the fact that they're authorized quiet. Michael Hebron, Chuck Cook, etc. You can see clear as day that they know what they're talking about when they write a book or article, but there's no direct credit given to Homer or any mention of their authorization.

But...
Although I am happy to see Ness, Cook and Hall appear in GD and at least use TGM phrasing- it is sad that they get the "back of the book" when they provide better instruction then the cover story.

I do expect more from Hall though, he attended the first "secrets workshop" and rents Doyle tapes like candy, I'm hoping he drops Lynn's name in a future article. And I hope he and the other "name" instructors that came to see Lynn don’t pull an old vaudevillian comics thing and rip Homer and the workshop off.

“Did you hear about the Swinger who Hit it big? Yeah, He got tired of pulling it off all the time- he’s all Right now.” Drum roll-rim shot- clang.

Hebron
I don't think he is too bad Matt, besides having spoke of Homer on many occasions he has an entire chapter in his enjoyable instructional devoted to his thoughts on TGM. It is a very interesting read
