Maybe he will inherit your sense of humor despite his current lack of gustatorial discrimination!

Its really depends on how well the monitor was calibrated. I read somewhere (yes, I do read.....) that the earlier models of monitors you could fool by hitting the ball really low and it would register things like 300 yard drives and so on.
Like it was said earlier all depends on who is operating the monitor, ideally it should be recalibrated after every person has finished with it.
As for your kid eating boogers, tell him to stop it. Its disgusting. Replace the booger with a nice juicy piece of chicken!!

Launch Monitor and Boogers
First, I think launch monitors need someone knowledgeble to set them up and interpret. I had a friend, who I play with regularly, hit driver inside an Edwin Watts and it registered over 400 carry on two out of four drives. I have seen him drive it over 300 regularly but 400 is a stretch. On the fifth ball, he launched one into the net and it hit the back wall and flew all the way back across the store to hit the other wall. Of course, staff was not amused. He is also a great deal of fun at an indoor bar place we have here that features Pebble Beach and you hit into nets. He typically ricochets it around the room several times, especially after a few beers in him. Pure hitter and big as a house. He only likes to play with me so he can ridicule my efforts to swing (never been a hitter, never will...probably).

I am a Microbiologist and I say, let the little fellow eat boogers. Have him throw in some dirt periodically too. Good for your immune system. My little guy went to school and came back with the habit which drives my wife nuts. On the upside, he never gets sick and there are more chicken nuggets for us.
