Except that if a shot goes over the rough and into the gallery a player will no doubt have a much better lie.
To reward accuracy the greens should be smaller, like the greens I play on. It's astounding that a player who accurately shoots at the pin, is then penalised by having the ball roll yards away simply because the ball was on the "wrong side" of the cup.
If they really want to test player's skill they should issue each player with an identical set of off-the-shelf clubs, the same ball and ban practice rounds and caddies
