Pine Needles And Peggy -- A Sentimental Journey
Boy, is this place loaded with talent! Winner of The Blue Ribbon in the photography category is 6bmike, who provided both the photos and the music for this very special remembrance at http://6bmike.photosite.com/Album1/. Be sure to click on Full Screen in the lower right hand corner for the full effect. Thanks, 6bmike!

The subject of the Photo Album is the Secrets of The Golfing Machine Workshop conducted by Chuck Evans and myself last August at one of the nation's most famous golf resorts, Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club. In addition to our 'civilian' students, several PGA Professionals were in attendance, including Head Professional Scott Brazaski; David Orr, Director of the Professional Golf Management Program at Campbell University (NC); Bob Montello, Authorized Instructor of TGM at Woodlake Golf Club; and our own Eddie Cox, Director of Golf at Tot Hill Farm Golf Club in Asheboro, North Carolina.

And, of course, our star pupil, Peggy Kirk Bell herself, one of the most respected names in LPGA and USGA history. You know you are one-on-one with golfing history when the conversation goes like this:

Peggy Kirk Bell: "That's what Tommy showed me!"

Yoda: "Tommy Tomasello?"

Peggy: No, Tommy Armour!
and...

Peggy: "That's what Ben showed me!"

Yoda: "Ben Doyle?"

Peggy: "No, Ben Hogan!"

Mrs. Bell conducts the world-famous women-only Golfari Schools each year, and over the past five decades has taught thousands of people to play better golf. Nevertheless, she attended each day of the Workshop and participated in every activity. What a treat for all! But I've got to tell you, teaching Golf with Peggy Kirk Bell listening to each word and evaluating every motion is, well...just imagine teaching a painting class...

With Picasso on the front row.

Thanks again, 6bmike, for your wonderful pictorial of a magical time.

Thanks for the kind words. As a photojournalist, making pictures and telling stories is second nature. I'm naked without a camera somewhere near by - maybe it's just a security blanket. Be thankful you aren't my kids.

I added the a few extra pictures that Lynn asked for. I hope somebody enjoys it because the workshop is easily one of the finest experiences anyone can have. Do many of them.

H-e-l-l-o Torsten!

Great to hear from you in this first post. Thanks also for your generous contribution to the Homer Kelley Award Memorial Fund. It's people like you who are making this whole movement possible!

FYI,
All good things come to an end. The photosite people are going out of business by September and the musical slideshow of Pine Needles will disappear with them. I will try to video tape it off the monitor just to save the music. Hope some of you enjoyed it.

doh, I don't know why I didn't think of this...I've tried all kinds of stuff to download that slideshow for Yoda (I hear it's one of his favorites ).

Mike, I'll use some utilities I've got and just record it from my screen.

I'm sure there are options. My camera allows for a cine taping, but please give it a try.

I'll look at other sites and see what they have. Power point or Key Note should be able to do the same thing.
