Yoda In the UK / Private and Group Instruction Rates
Thanks to all my UK friends who have expressed interest in working with me during the week July 20-25. I am now safely down in Glasgow and checked into my hotel at Loch Lomand.
The next two weeks will revolve around the Barclays Scottish Open and The Open Championship. Then, on Monday, the 20th, I will begin teaching in Glasgow. The demand in Glasgow will determine the number of days I spend in London. I expect the London sessions to begin no later than Thursday, the 24th. For various reasons, probably the best format is simply to schedule private lessons and offer discounts if students combine together.
My base rate per hour will be 140 GSB for the first student. This is my normal rate (92 GSB) and a 50 percent premium to cover my additional expenses and facilities fees. Each subsequent student will receive a 50 percent discount, i.e., 70 GSB, which will lower the cost for each member of the group. For example, two students will have a combined fee of 210 GSB (or 105 each, a discount of 35 GSB, or 25 percent, off the full private rate. A third student would generate a total hourly rate of 280, or about 93 pounds each, about 33 percent off the private rate. I envision most private lessons to average between 1-2 hours and most group sessions to average 2-4 hours. However, these are merely estimates; no doubt some private and group students will prefer even more time.
For those interested in my personal instruction and who do not want the expense of a trip to the U.S., this is a cost-effective and time-effective way to get it. Please PM me your desired location, date and number of hours. Also, whether or not you would combine with others. Thanks!
Anyone southern UK based, who is looking to work with Mr. Blake during his time in London that might like to make up a student group of two or three with me?
I'm hoping he's not completely inundated already, but if not I imagine we'll have to move fast!
Sorry, guys, but I won't be teaching in England this time 'round. While there was demand, it simply wasn't sufficient to warrant an abbreviation of my time in Scotland. My accomodating schedule would have been too fragmented over the time allotted, but my considerable expense was a constant. Hence, the tough but necessary decision to forego the effort.
I plan on a return to the UK next year for the Barclays Scottish Open and The Open Championship, and given this notice, we should be able to put together an event that will work for all. Meanwhile, for those who are willing to make the journey to Scotland, let me know via PM or email at lynn@lynnblakegolf.com. I'm not leaving until July 26th, and if we can make something happen for you during that period, I'd love to do it.
BTW Brian Gay got quite a few mentions on FiveLive (U.K's biggest sports radio station)over the weekens. No mentions of TGM though. Good luck to Brian for next week...
