I'm thinking this post fits here.
Aproximately 15 months ago three of us met with Yoda here in Minn. during the PGA. Prior to that, Kev Carter, Kev Sweeney and I were doing the TGM thing pretty much on our own with the help of anything we could find in print and on the internet. KC found stuff that had to be intended not to be found.
After our day with Yoda, I was shell shocked. He gave us SO much to think about and work on. Work on it we did.
At that time I stood over the ball wondering if I could get it somewhere in the general vicinity by hook or crook, then rely on my pretty good short game to hopefully save par.
Now I stand over the ball on every tee thinking birdie. I don't get them all the time, of course, but I usually have a chance.
A year ago I was lucky to get 100 yrds out of a 9 iron. I relied heavily on drivers and hybrids. I couldn't hit a 3 wood off the deck to save my life.
Now, at 120 I wonder if I should hit a pw or an easy 9. At 150 I am afraid a 7 iron might be a little much. 140 is an easy 8 iron.
I don't think I have ever experienced this kind of distance or direction. Direction ranges from dead-butt straight to a tad of draw.
Thanks Yoda and Kev. Life is so much more fun.

I remember, JerryG. Thanks for the update. Our time together with all the guys at Medinah CC was special, and I won't ever forget it.
Thanks, Kevin, for making it happen!

Kevin, I am glad you and friends had a fruitful day. Tell me if there was one thing (I am sure many) but one thing that helped
you the most, what say you??

No one thing in particular, just the overall concept was a huge eye opener.
I was looking at it through the eyes of one who's playing days are over, but want to learn how to teach the game better. I watched and listened to YODA teach all abilities, really good player to high handicapper.
No two lessons were alike. I was the only one he spoke TGM to as he knew that's how I wanted to learn. The language of TGM is geared more towards the instructor.
While he didn't speak the language with the others, it was obvious to me that they were still the fundamentals being taught, but in plain English. Lynn NEVER mentioned hitting and swinging, right elbow on plane, imperatives and essentials, none of it, rather he taught those things in plain language everybody could understand.
People who critisize his methods have never watched him in action.

Indeed. Kevin is an excellent communicator and provides illustrative information. We are lucky to have him.
