What Starts The Backswing?

The start of the backstroke is the Start Up, section 4 of the 12 sections in TGM, so there are 3 sections before we get to the Start Up. Being a swinger or a hitter will also have effect on how this is done. I hope somebody else also will shede some more light on this...
