Whats a Good Blend of Flex, Strength, Core, Aerobic, Posture
I am trying to design a 12month workout program that:
1) Exercises that heart AND loose 10 pounds ( then maintain weight at 190lbs, I am 6 feet)
2) Is Golf Specific
3) Increases Strengh in my lower body
4) Strenthens my core and balance and estabilished good posture
......Where do I begin?
I am thinking, as follows and would like feedback please.
Aerobic conditioning 5-6 days a week (30, 45, or 60 minutes depending on the day). Also incorportes interval training once or twice per week.
Stretch 4-7 times per week, focusing on keeping my lower body loose as well as my spine and torso as well as chest and shoulders.
Core work with swiss ball, buso ball, med balls, and tornado ball. Also use dyno discs. (russian twist, jacknife, prone, side prone, oblique crunches, crunchs on swiss/bosu, med ball throws against wall, golf swing on dyno discs, foam roller work, etc)
Strength training October through March. Upper body work 2/week, lower body work 2/week, 4 exercises for upper body, 4 exercises for lower body, 3 sets each)
Now I have 2 opportunites per day to work out, once in the morning and "sometimes" during my lunch break. Evenings are not workable, except for 15-20 minutes of stretching or othere "casual" activity (wrist roll-ups, various bicep curls, or tricep work, even shoulder work with dumbells), because it really family time.
The morning is my best opportunity to work out (at home). I have an hour to accomplish whatever makes sense to do each morning.
What is the best way to organize such a program? What would someone recommend?
This could be something most of us working people could benefit from.
I live in Mich, which is why I would focus on strength training Oct - March, then.....Golf rally begins again! (although I do play up to November and in March if weather permits).
Thanks to any and all replys
