yes and no
Good game, unfortunately marred by the fact that Texas was given the victory by two HORRENDOUSLY bad calls in the first half. I didn't care who won, but that play at the goal line in the second quarter was NOT a touchdown, and there was a blatant pass interference that was not called on the sideline play when the Texas defender pushed the USC receiver and caused him to fall before the ball ever got to his hands. The officiating the bowl games this year has been horrible, and it saddens me...

Speaking of bad calls, let's not forget the interception by Texas that was ruled an incomplete pass, enabled USC to continue their drive and led to a field goal. Bad calls went both ways. I was pulling for Texas only because I became tired of all the USC hype over the past 2 years. Also, Keith Jackson drives me nuts and he was clearly a USC rooter----1 more reason to cheer for Texas.

officiating
I wasn't that concerned about the one call being for Texas down near goal line. I mean if it would've been called correctly, Texas would've had a first down within about 10 yds. You can never tell but does anyone think that the way the quarterback from Texas was playing that he wouldn't have gotten in with 4 tries from that close? That guy was on fire, it seemed that the only way to bring him down was to shoot real low and tie up his legs or put a good, solid hit on him. And the way he was moving, I don't think he took but maybe one or two good hits all night. The closest thing I've ever seen to Michael Vick's speed but with more power.
If we want to get into bad officiating, look at the GA game. I'm not saying it because Georgia lost but the officiating in this game was ridiculous. Even the announcers, who always talk about what a good job the refs do, was blasting them by halfway through the first quarter. For those who missed the game, it went something like this - play 2 plays, stop to look at the replay, wait at least 3 min., come back and get half of replays overturned and half kept regardless of whether it was the right call or not. I mean they were so afraid of making a mistake during a big bowl game that they were looking at replay at least 3 or 4 times every quarter. It got to where both teams fans were booing them.
