Problems with Brian Gay Vids
I've downloaded and viewed all of the previous videos without any problems but I cannot get the 2 new Brian Gay ones to work. Both of them stop after exactly 1 minute of viewing and I get the error "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because it is corrupted".

I have tried with Media Player 10 and Media Player 6.4 but to no avail. I have the correct codecs installed (both of these clips are (WMV3 = Windows Media Video 9, 33 Mb, 701 Kbps, 11.392 fps, res. 640*480 (4:3)).

The download sizes of the files are 5634Kb and 5328Kb is this correct?

Anyone else had this problem?

Have you tried using DivX AVI rather than WMV ?

Sounds like you didn't get the full download on the videos. They are large files in order to keep the quality high. The first video is 35,610 KB, the second is 43,157 KB.

If you guys wish, I can render smaller sized video but the quality would be lower and the window size on the player would be smaller. I know it's difficult for dial up users to access these big videos.

I have the same problem with the front view version of Brian Gay (the other vid works fine). The download is complete, but the video is corrupt about a quarter of the way. I am using the newest version of Windows media player.

Thanks
Thanks Bagger now I know the sizes I'll keep trying.

I have a 1Mb ADSL connection so the size shouldnt be a problem. Is there heavy traffic on your webserver? Maybe this is causing the timeouts and truncated downloads.?

We're looking into on our end and according to the server stats, there is a huge volume of downloads of video. It's hard to determine the success/failure ratio with so many variables effecting downloading. It's not just our server but internet traffic in general; which includes the main trunks, your ISP, your neighbor, your kid downloading music in the next room. Keep trying to right click and download the videos rather than letting it stream.

Thanks,

Bagger

If you need more information about the error message "C00D1199: Cannot play the file" goto http://msmvps.com/blogs/chrisl/articles/14322.aspx
this method works for me, thanks Lefty44

Did you "save target as" and then play with media version 6.2? The issue that I am having is that when I "save target as", the saved WMV files are only around 5 MB. I can play the files but they are not full length.
