End of the Journey
You guys have been great and I wish you all continued well-being and success. After 15 yrs of TOTAL addiction and focusing most of my conscious hours on not flipping, I quit.
Age, health issues and not being able to understand 12 Piece has done me in. Sold my clubs and haven't played for 6 mos.
It is just too frustrating to continue. So I am going to take my Coast Guard Captain's License and go sailing in my front yard. Adios...and thanks.....pshr

Dude! Don't do it!!!! You need to contact Mike O . . . He's on your side of the U.S.

The game is to beautiful . . . You can't quit! Sometimes you gotta hit the bottom to come up.

Don't quit man....

If it's not working you're not doing the right things....period.

Setup well....gain control of that clubface.....if you're hands are educated....that'll be enough to let you play enjoyable enough golf.

The clubface deal will be the biggest problem no doubt.....Educated Hands (to sustain lag mostly) takes some work (and Clubface Control is the first step before this, really)....and anyone can setup well (if you know how).

There are guys with one arm who can play good golf.....dunno if that's gonna inspire you or insult you....I don't mean it as an insult.....either way tho I hope it wakes you up.

...

You worked with many instructors? (any TGM ones of note?- you don't have to say who BTW)....

What are the problems anyway? I assume ballstriking?....putting can get bad but I dunno that it could be bad enough to drive anyone away....from playing recreationally anyway...

You need to see a real good teacher....

...

BTW I feel your pain....sometimes it just seems impossible....you've just gotta figure it out.....man.....it's not a game purely of talent or ability, I'll promise you that (you shoulda seen my swing....years after I started even- like 10 years...).

I mean.....no guarantees you're gonna be Tiger....but it doesn't take a lot of physical or athletic ability to be a good enough ballstriker to have fun- and play some golf....look at how some old guys hit it.....hell...look at Moe Norman even for god's sake....he's no specimen not even CLOSE.....most accurate damn player ever.

I know it sucks (bad)......but you just really need to figure it out (find someone who can help you).

The joy is in the striving. I don't know of a game that is more difficult. I know the elation and I know the frustration. I've shot 68 and hit the ball on the range as though I was going to shoot 88 and vice-versa.

I was really starting to get things together and then 1.5 weeks ago I threw my back out on the 1st hole, played anyway and shot 87. After 10 days off to let my back get better my whole game feels like it is in shambles, all when I thought I was getting much closer to becoming a par golfer. Tomorrow, the next day, the day after, or soon it will come back though. Diligence and good information is all a person really needs. Only two things!

Look forward to hearing your comeback story!

Matt

Storm before the calm!!!
For what its worth I usually play my best golf just after playing so badly that I am on the verge of giving up the game.

So just maybe?????
