Information about visiting the Swamp
Hey guys and gals.
I was wondering if you could help me out here. I am thinking of taking a week off work in November and going to visit the Swamp for some much needed RnR and some G.O.L.F. tution.
Having never been to Marietta, Georgia before what is the weather like in November? Is it better to wait until the new year? Where are the best places to stay and so on?
Also in terms of tuition itself I know it depends on how busy Yoda and Ted are but what would you recommend in terms of lessons? A few days of lessons with some golf inbetween?
Like I said its just an idea that I am mulling over right now and any help would be great.
Thanks,
Alex

After your lesson, if you still have questions, it's my understanding that, for an extra fee, Yoda will place a futon for you, next to his bed. He'll still answer questions for you even when he's asleep.

Alex, you are in for the treat of your life.
A Yoda and Ted visit is like a Club-Ho visiting a golf club manufacture facitily, like a 5 year old turned loose in a candy shop during the holidays, like, well you get the idea.
Somehow I don't the weather will effect you as it might Yoda or Ted, after all you are used to having hourly different conditions, a little wind, a little rain, very little sun, etc.
Bring a notebook to write down notes.
Pre-write out your questions.
Sleep on the way over, so that won't get in the way while you are here.
If you have a vid camera, bring it so you can get some vid notes. Ted in about 30 seconds can take what you might have thought you were doing to show you what you are doing.
Oh, practice ahead of time with the dowel drills, and then some basic and acquired motion.
I for one know that you can make one heck of good pass at the ball, seen it more than once.
Keep me posted on when and that, maybe I can find my way down there for a day...

Thanks for all the information guys, much appreciated. Just need to firm up on dates and flights (£460 with BA from Glasgow is not too bad)
Martee, it would be good to see you again my friend it has been too long since we last spoke or met. You still 'Mr Automatic'? I hope you are well.
With Golfsmith etc nearby it might give a chance to take advantage of the exchange rate and stock up on golf balls and other things.

Notes from an ex-Georgia (Athens) resident...
Since you live in Scotland, you should have no problems with November in Atlanta. It will be colder around the New Year. Marietta is just north of "the Loop," so hotel/motels will not be an issue. If you want to really bask in the lap of luxury, there's none better than the Westin Hotel. I have listed a few websites for the one closest to the Swamp. There is ample local entertainment/sights/activities to be found in the Atlanta area, not to mention Trader Golf, Edwin Watts, Golfsmith, et. al. to stock up at US prices (unless you do the eBay thing).
