Amongst other things, I have recently discovered the benefits of extensor action. I feel structure and a sort of clear distinction between the rolls of the two arms, to say nothing of easy power, compression etc.
Do you have any advice in regard to its application? Are there times to back off a little on its pressure given a certain shot at hand? Can too much EA inhibit left wrist cock or straighten the right arm prematurely. I notice my left wrist cocking to be a little less than normal. Perhaps I only require a little more "bending".
Can EA be over done? If so what are the warning signs? Tension, lack of left wrist cock?
Yes, it can be overdone if improperly applied. For Example, When your left arm on the Backswing is Parallel to the Ground, the direction of extensor action should be on plane directly away from the target, not lifting upward. Lifting the Left Arm is by elbow action of the right arm, not extensor action.
Good point! Im working on the EA and Fanning and Bending. Ill try to keep them separate.
Perhaps it just takes some getting used to but Im wondering if I'm over doing it a little in terms of pressure. Is EA a gentle tug or an outright pull? Or perhaps there are occasions for both? A chip vs a drive?
Im having trouble applying it in start up, after adjusted address, while employing a lagging takeaway. Ill keep working on it.
From impact fix, no problems but a little stiffish in feel. Maybe this is the new normal? I have noticed that my release is a little earlier. Not sure if this is an improper application of EA or a positive side effect as any right hand cocking is impaired by EA? Im leaning towards the latter and working on my downplane right shoulder, right arm and start down waggles.
EA really seems to dove tail nicely or perhaps even be a prerequisite to other TGM procedures. RFT, non cocking right wrist, left arm leash etc etc. I love it but want to get it right.
Should the extensor action be applied from impact fix, back to adjusted adress and then continue it all the way through the swing, or should it not begin to be applied untill after start up? After first visit with Yoda at the swamp i had the feeling of it but have not been able to grasp it quite right again, I can not get the right amount, without over doing it, and running out of right arm premeturly. Could it be that my start down is not as efficent and I am round housing with my right shoulder? Also is EA through just the #1 pp, or #2, or #3, or some combo? PLease someone help EA is the most listed thing in 12-3, and I am affraid to apply it becuase i feel i will run out of right arm before impact
