I wish my friends would .....
I wish my friends would read the little yellow book and study everyting that is in this forum. I also wish my friends and customers would read "The Search For The Perfect Golf Club" by Tom Wishon.

I just got this book and I can't put it down. As the little yellow book and Yodas teachings show that there is no mystery to the swing it all happens with a purpose and when you do it wrong the ball flight will talk to you. As you follow Yoda it becomes more apparent that what you hear and read from the modern golf magazines is trash, likewise after reading Tom Wishons book you will also see that what is in the advertisements for clubs and many of the articles are also worth nothing or even worse, absotulely wrong.

I just re-read what I wrote. I sorry if it sounds like I’m selling Yodas work and Toms book but I’ve become very passionate about what I call is the “golfing truth”, both the swing and hardware.

The Golfing Truth
The truth is incontrovertible, malice may attack it, ignorance may deride it, but in the end, there it is.

Jim,

Is the Wishon book only available to professional clubmakers? I would be interested in getting a copy if it's generally avaialble.
It is now available in bookstores.

He wrote this book for the aveage golfer. It has the questions that each of us should ask and get good answers for before we put down the big bucks.

What items should we pay attention to inorder to get a club that will perform the way we want it to? What are the important items and which items are nothing more than hype?

Should you get a club with a given characteristic to hopefully solve our problem or should we spend the money on lessons?

Who should should get custom clubs? The pro? The new guy? You might be surprised. What constitutes custom clubs? How expensive are they? Again I think you will be surprised.

Who actually makes the expensive name brand clubs? And the custom clubs?

We are not talking about clones!! What are clones?

I didn't answer your questions. I think you should read the book. The fact that you are in this forum you have gone to the best for answers for your swing questions: to compliment this, go to the best for answers for your equipment questions.

Again it sounds like I'm getting paid for each book that is sold. But no, that's not happenning. I had to buy my own and even pay postage for it.

I haven't gotten the book yet, though I have others by him.

Here is a link that may in fact give the insight to the book based on other comments...

It was from 2002.....
