Orange County Magic

I just got back from the Orange County National golf workshop. I had a blast! It has been said many times, but I’ll say it again, Lynn and Ted are amazing instructors. Teaching is an art, you have to have the info (TGM), you have to have the creativity, and the right kind of personality to communicate the info. Man, do these guys have it!

A couple of stories, we had a celebrity in our class, Steve Atwater ex NFL player, 9 time pro bowler (Super nice guy). We are driving over to the range and he is telling me he hasn’t been playing golf very long and has trouble breaking 100. At the range he is struggling to hit anything solid, Lynn starts working with him and in no time he is crushing the ball, we stop class and watched for a little while.

I had a pretty amazing transformation myself. I had been getting frustrated; I could not stop my kamikaze backstroke. Which kind-of pegged me as a swinger, but I loved to start from impact fixed like most hitters. Ted looks at me and says you are going to be my pet project, we are going fix you. You could see in his eyes he already had a bunch of ideas. At dinner that night we talked about it, (talk about a cool dinner, Lynn, Ted, Edz and I talking golf all night). The next day Ted goes to work and in no time I’m striping it with every club in the bag.

I’ve got other stories to tell (short game magic) but I have to run. This was truly an awesome experience.
