Don't Bang Head => Add Weight

LJ,

Basically, replacing DGs with NS950s has reduced the overall weight of each iron by roughly 25 - 30 grams. Most of the time when a change like this is done, the clubmaker will have to add tip weight to bring the swingweight back up (I don't know how yours were done) or make the clubs a little longer (1/2" maybe - not recommended unless it fits your swing).

Post shaft installation, you can add weight to the heads with lead tape. This will boost the swingweight, but your overall weight will still be lighter than the DGs. The added weight will give you more feel of the clubhead during the swing as well as soften the flex slightly. Try experimenting with your favorite iron and add a 2" strip of lead tape one at a time. Hit plenty of balls in between strips of tape. At some point you should start feeling the head and, hopefully, start striking the ball more consistently. Add the same amount of tape to all your irons and tweak each for the feel you desire. The pros do this sort of thing all the time, BTW. Good luck!
