I was taught that Down The Line was
a. Hands Height
b. Perpendicular to Target Line
c. Hands in center.

I am not sure a mid point (between the hands and clubhead/ball) would yield the correct results. After all for Face On, the Hands are the center focal point, one would reason, at least to my understanding, that you would want the same for Down The Line.

I believe Chuck E. advocates the same.
