I think you have a better chance of being "freakishly long" as a hitter than a swinger. Study the ESPN Remax Long Drive footage when you can. A lot of those 400 yard pops sure look like hits to me.

In light of this statement, I have a question:

As most longdrivers have long swings, what type of adjustments need to be made by a hitter who takes his swing to the end?

I think most long drivers are "switters".
It's difficult to tell, but I don't see any pure hitters .
