Hawaiian Punch

BG finished with a 64 (-6), low round of the day. That put him at 271 (-9) for the tournament and T13. Great final round and a solid start for the year.

Next stop: Bob Hope Classic in La Quinta, California!

He was 'in position' after a fine first round 69, but two bogies and a double in a five-hole stretch on the front nine of the second round really hurt: the "made cut but did not finish" rule (that usually applies after Round 3) was applied to the entire 36 holes of Sunday's closing finish.

To Jim's credit, he hung tough and made four birdies in the remaining ten holes, but it wasn't quite good enough. All the best, Jim, for the West Coast swing!

Thanks for the kind words, Yoda. Despite making the cut, but not playing the weekend, Jim took home $10,395.00 in his first official event. He finished second in driving distance 308.0 and I believe first overall in driving. But, as we all know, drive for show.

Drew,
I thought Jim did Well for his first event having never seen the course.
Pretty tough when you shoot 69-70 and miss the cut. He just has to keep grinding and wait for the whole game to get hot.

Jim Renner did not miss the cut. He just didn't get to finish the final 36. The tourney still counts as a 'cut made' for various PGA TOUR qualifications, including the FedEx Cup.

See my earlier post above regarding this unusual circumstance.

That is incredible. The snow here in Northern New Mexico is starting to melt, and signs of Spring are all about. This means that another storm will hit just as the golf course is scheduled to open.

I'm heading south to sunny FLA. As it seems to be the only State that doesn't have snow. I hope to see you at the PGA Teaching & Coaching Summit.
