He immediately text-messaged "Finchie" (Ian Baker-Finch) and, next thing you know, Clampett takes a Mulligan and gets it right. Class acts, Bobby and Ian. Thanks!

And thank you, John Riegger. It's good to have friends with 'connections!'

Great to hear and very nice of John to help straighten that out.

The ball is rolling, my friend.......enjoy the ride!

That's too funny. I needed a good laugh today.

I have my "get out of golf-jail card" for a few years.
The card is very expensive. If anyone wants to know what it costs, let me know.

I'm broke, spend my off days looking for used balls in the woods.

But...I'm back on the course again! :) \\:D/

ColtsFan 06-12-2007 12:28 PM

Gotta love those free golf balls that people dont bother going into the woods to retrieve...especially those Callaways and Pro V-1's

The best hunting I've found for new, high-quality golf balls is at a PGA TOUR or Nationwide Tour event on Thursday morning after the Wednesday Pro-Am. Just walk up the deep rough -- right side not left! -- and you will not believe how many you'll find. I'm not kidding.

Bring your shag bag!

One of the courses I play is used by the local university, JC and high school. The players are provided with Pro V1 or Pro V1x golf balls. Many of the players don't bother retrieving the golf balls they hit into the woods; they will just drop another ball on the fairway and proceed with the practice round.

I usually find 2 to 4 per round I play.

ColtsFan 06-12-2007 04:21 PM

Those muni courses keep me stocked w/ good ole RockFlite's err...TopFlite's. I hit those when my bucket runs dry:happy3:

you can save huge money doing this, I aint that proud....

Yoda , you might want to be careful down South looking for balls in the woods, there's Cotton Mouth's and Copper Heads in them there hills.....

No woods for me, Coltsfan, and no snakes, either. On Thursday morning after the Wednesday Pro-Am, I just walk up the right side keeping an eye on the second cut of rough.

Voila!

thanks to all you machine heads for the support. it is nice to see the positive remarks from everyone. i actually corrected clampett on 18 about the instructor mention and he was able to rectify it on my approach shot when he talked about angled hinging to keep it away from the water left! It was nice to have a commentator who knows tgm with my group on sunday.

Thanks for this first post, Brian. A 'lurker' no more! :laughing9

Thanks also for correcting Bobby Clampett on the 18th. I can't believe you guys had that conversation with the kind of pressure (and cash!) you had on the line that last hole. Between John Riegger texting Ian Baker-Finch and you going mano-o-mano with Bobby, an inconsequential footnote was made right. I am truly humbled.

Finally, my personal LBG congats on your great tournament. As I said to you on the phone the morning of the final round, the naysaying commentators may have been able to measure your drives, but they failed miserably at measuring your heart. Then you showed them in the afternoon just how wrong they were.

I texted Kip my congratulations after the finish, and he returned with this:

"Ol b gay has some guts, huh?"

Yes, you do, Brian...

Yes you do.

:salut:

Keep up the great work, Brian! My wife is beginning to notice that I make noise when you are on the screen during tournament telecasts. Sunday, she said, "so who's this Brian guy, and is he another Freddie?" (my mother goes berserk and starts firing of emails to all whenever F. Couples is playing well).

We're all real proud of you here, Brian. You did a great job of maintaining focus in the swirl of distractions that tried to knock you off your game. Takes some character to do that. :salut:

There's an old saying: If you hang around a barber shop long enough, you'll end up getting a haircut.

Well, for you: If you hang around the leaderboard often enough you going to end up lifting the "crystal."

Keep up the good work.

Nice first post. Another lurker into the fray! :)

As much as Bobby loves the Machine, I'll bet he digs hanging out with you. I know he is pulling for you on every shot just as much as we are.

We all enjoy watching one of Yoda's 'kids' play top level golf and we love seeing you do so well. It's nice to hear The Golfing machine, Homer kelley and/or Lynn Blake mentioned on a braodcast. We are all machine heads around here. i hope I get to see you play soon.

Way to go BG! 6bmike

I think that would be awesome Ned.

By the way, I did a Wiki search on Ned Beatty and it said before you did your breakout role in Deliverance, you had an awesome scene in another outdoors movie. They said you had a "historical pageant" in it.

That Wiki is amazing! Thanks for turning me on to it.

What's a BWW? I had a car once that sorta had that but it was the Texas version.

Those abandoned gems are a far cry from the 50 cent 'Club Specials' I played (and hoarded). Sounds to me like an entitlement culture gone awry.

:(

I would say that you are reading something into what I wrote, but Bagger sez that Missus Sanders reads everything for you. Perhaps she misinterpreted...

Are you planning on coming over for The Open in July?
