Wear what you would if you were playing at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, NC. Have you played there?

Does anybody have a handle on how crowded the Homecoming will be? If I were a gambler, I'd start a 'pool'. Not on the Website; of course. :naughty:

As is the case with all free markets, price will determine the number of entries. That's why the pricing isn't up yet: We want the maximum participation possible, given the constraints of a world-class experience.

I'm calling in the assistance of a lot of friends -- and their friends! -- to make this happen for as many as possible.

:)

I'm getting my reservation early then. I'm calling them tomorrow. :)

Maybe we should have a Psychologist with a specialty in "Cults". Or maybe, we just not think about it.

neil 03-10-2008 08:00 PM

I don't think Bucket qualifies as a "cult"-I could think of a few other Names though!:confused1

Not to worry, Daryl. We already have negotiated an attractive group lodge rate for the LBG Homecoming Classic and will reserve as many as necessary.

Details soon!

:)

gettin' in the mix

hey gentlemen (and ladies),
jumping in the mix here with my first post. i've had a few lessons with ted in the last 4 years down in marietta, the most recent being the weekend before the masters. always looking to get better. ted has been great...now if i only can get my mind to cooperate. he even got my brother excited about playing again.
anyways, firstly, thanks ted for your help two weekends ago. and secondly, this is something i may be interested in attending, even if it means i'm skipping class and flying down to GA!

Anyone else from the UK thinking of coming along? Or is this for our Cousins over the pond only?
Alex

It's open to anyone on the globe. There will be those traveling across many ponds to get here.

Hope you can make it Alex.

I hope so too. I have been out of the game for the past year due to other things taking priority and lack of motivation for it. Hopefully this could be something that reignites it.
It would be good to see you and Lynn again.

Alex and Burner,

In respect of your extraordinary transportation costs and in the spirit of homecoming, I hereby institute a 15 percent discount to all foreign students (amateur and professional). To prevent confusion in the Pro Shop, the foreign student tuition refund ($240) will be delivered at Cuscowilla.

I have this firmly in mind and thanks to Yoda's generous overseas discount I can hardly refuse.

You in?

I am sure most everybody has visited this sister thread, but just in case, go here for all the LynnBlakeGolf Homecoming Classic at Cuscowilla details: http://www.lynnblakegolf.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=5630

Regarding pricing, this is a FOUR day event at a price fractionally higher than I charge for ONE day of individual instruction. Further, it includes three nights accomodations at a major golf resort and the opportunity to learn from additional Professional Staff that is among the most knowledgeable in the world. How is this possible? Easy . . . I truly want this Homecoming to work and have called in a bunch of favors and cut margins to the bone. My international student discount basically gives up that small margin, but that's my choice . . . I want our people there, wherever in the world they may be.

For those individuals now considering joining us, hear me:

You will never again be able to obtain the Lynn Blake Golf experience -- not to mention the opportunity to learn from our assembled Special International Invitees -- at a price anywhere close to this.

Phil Knight at Nike got it right:

Just do it.

That is very kind of you sir. Think its time to speak to the Boss at work and book the time off :D

golfguru 07-29-2008 07:57 AM

Alex I hope your boss is a golfer and a gentleman. If he says no there are plenty of jobs in Oz going. Cuscowilla looks like better weather on offer than Scotland or Belfast at that time of year.

From the two Paul's down under we are both looking forward to seeing y'all and if Burner does come we will introduce you to the game of cricket.

Thanks for the invite to be a part of the 'gathering'.

Hmmmmm . . . . Mikey talks about playing Hampster . . . I'm sure he'll be calling "NEXT!!!!" on cricket . . . I think I'll probably watch Sanford & Son while y'all play games.

Come on Bucket, you can learn a lot about CF and hitting form a cricket bat, and tracing a plane line too:)

Sounds like you spend a lot of time "down under."

P.S. please do NOT ship in Fosters for the occasion - we export it for a reason:laughing9

Ya gotta be there, Neil. No excuses! Besides the company of fellow Brits, Cuscowilla beer is ice cold!

:occasion:

99toty 07-30-2008 11:20 PM

Geez, I was wondering when this thread was going to come out of hibernation. I figured Bucket would yell "BOO" on here just to see if anyone was listening.

If I remember correctly, chime in Gnomey and Yodasluke, when we went to Australia in 2004, all the beer I saw being served was coming out of a cooler. In fact I think the beer was so good over there, Golfgnome yelled loud enough back in the states, Outback Steakhouse now serves about 4 Aussie brands, cold. :occasion:

Yoda, sounds like it will be a smash hit. Gotta start saving up the pennies and Benjamins, you folks won't want to miss this.:naughty:

I'm DEFINITELY coming!

P.S. For those who don't know, 99toty is Chris Asbell, 1999 Georgia PGA Teacher of the Year, 2000 Golf Digest Best Teachers in the State and the 'other half' of the team that won the last two Georgia PGA Pro-Pro Championships!

Damon Green, PGA TOUR caddy for Zach Johnson and winner of more than 50 mini-tour events, will be with us at Cuscowilla. He will discuss course strategy and 'yardage book' TOUR tactics you can use to bring your own 'Monster' to its knees. Join us . . . There's been nothing like this in the history of 'golf schools for you'.

Alex and Burner Are In!

Great news . . .

Alex and Burner will be with us at Cuscowilla . . . Yay!

I can hardly wait to see Alex again -- he last visited in '06 -- and Burner for the first time. I first read each of those names in 2004 as I began posting on the old TGM website. What fun we've had since then!

For those on the fence . . .

Y'all come!

We're ready and rarin' to go!

I know this is very premature but I know I will miss this years event.

If I assume that it goes well, would you plan to make it an annual event or might it be a few years before you do this again?

Can't wait to see Lynn and Ted as well as the rest of the team. Unfortunately my game has not come on that much since you saw me in 2006 (life got in the way of my golf :() but looking forward to getting more input into the old incubator and learning more.
