Congratulations to Brian and Lynn. The hard work has paid off. Brian has now placed himself in the upper echelon of Tour players with these two wins.

And I'd like to add my own vote for a video on putting by Brian. I'd mainly just like to know what he works on, and how he thinks himself through the reading and hitting of putts when he's on the course. I'm sure he keeps it pretty simple but it'd be cool to hear about.

Richie3Jack 06-14-2009 09:04 PM

Just wanted to say 'HEY CHAMP!'

Congrats to a fellow 'Swampite' and 'forearm tracer.' And congrats to Lynn for helping show us mere mortals a way to success.

Yeah! See you at Bethpage, Brian!

Congratulations to Brian & Lynn! Now, on to Bethpage!

I was able to secure a ticket to the opening round today, and plan on following Brian around the course, hopefully with Lynn and any other LBG'er who will be there. Best I can tell is Brian will be going off the 10th tee at 2:20, but I could be wrong.

See you all there!

Ice Man

Congratulations Brian and Lynn. Does Brian have ice in his veins or what? So cool and so in control. Really an awesome display. Was late for work as it's Monday morning in Sydney but well worth it. Have a great week at Bethpage.

Matt 06-14-2009 10:24 PM

Congrats to Brian. Well deserved. Looked totally in control of his game and himself.

If the PGA Championship is in the cards, I'll see you at Hazeltine!

I hope the "stars align" for Mr. Blake to take his well-earned place inside the ropes with Brian at Bethpage this week!!!

And if you get there and things start going sideways, here's the "cure"....

Roy: You're [Yoda]. Figure out why I'm shanking...I'm catching it on the hosel? Moving my head? I'm laying it off?
Romeo: That, too.
Roy: I'm pronating.
Romeo: When you're not supinating.
Roy: I'm clearing too early, too late. My swing feels like an unfolding chair!
Romeo: Put your change in your left pocket. Go on, do it. Now, tie your left shoe in a double knot.
Roy: Tie my left shoe?
Romeo: Right now, do it! Turn the hat backwards. Turn your hat around. Do it, Roy! Take this tee and stick it behind your left ear.
Roy: I look like a fool!
Romeo: What do you think you look like shooting chili peppers up Janzen's a$$? Do it now or I'm going to quit. I swear to G@d I'll quit. Good. Take this ball and hit it up the fairway.
[Roy hits the ball straight]
Romeo: You're ready.
Roy: How'd I do that?
Romeo: Because you're not thinking about shanking or Molly. You're not thinking. You're looking like a fool, hitting the ball pure and simple...
Roy: F@rk you.
Romeo: F@rk me, huh? Well, you're cured.
Roy: That's it?
Romeo: That's it. Your brain was getting in the way.
Roy: That's hardly ever been the case.
Romeo: No sh!t, Sherlock.

Y'all Are Crazy!

What kinda mess is this??? We're gettin' sold a bill of goods here . . . I'm makin' the carpet call right now.

BRIAN GAY IS GETTING WORSE!!!!

I mean he won by 10 last time . . . 5 this time . . . what the heck is that all about??? I mean I guess we're supposed to get all fired up when he wins the U.S. Open by 3 or something??? Count me out . . . I ain't gettin' hitched up to no wagon that goes backwards.

12 piece bucket 06-14-2009 11:35 PM

Pretty telling that BG opened up such a big can of whoopdawg on the boys this week that CBS was forced to use the SwingVision on a squirrel climbing a tree. I reckon it makes the goofball talking heads like Kostis' job tough when all the can say is . . . he hit in the fairway . . . he hit it on the green . . . he made another putt . . . not much drama in a huge azzwhoopin' from wire to wire.

BG beatin' the PGA Tour like they owe him money.

Congrats to all! Best of luck at Bethpage . . . would be neat to see something special happen this Father's Day! Go get 'em y'all!!!!

Congrats to Brian, Kip and Lynn. An awesome display of golf all week long and Brian joins an elite group of players who have won twice this year.
Good luck to Brian at Bethpage this week and look forward to seeing him play at the Scottish Open and then the Open in July.

Thanks, Alex. That group of multiple winners you mention contained only two names before yesterday. Namely: TW and PM. Not bad company!

I'll be with Brian at the Barclays Scottish Open and The Open Championship. See you there!

PS There likely will be an LBG Academy during my trip over (either just before the BSO or after TOC and probably in Glasgow). If so, we'll get the word out ASAP so all the UK folk who are interested can make plans. Meanwhile, those who know they are potential candidates should PM me so I can get an idea of the LBG interest. :salut:

Another historic win, breaking the tournament record by 6 shots. It's not going to be long before "Magic of the right forearm" becomes the new catch phrase in golf.

Y'all better put some new heavy duty suspension on that bandwagon, because millions of golfers across the globe are going to be jumping on... ;)

The boys on the Golf Channel can provide no better commentary on BG's swing...Branel Chablee last night described Brian's setup as "both arms straight and lined up with the clubshaft"...he continues ... "no other golfer on the PGA Tour sets up like this...Moe Norman is the only guy I can think of". And this guy is an "Analyst"!!

Yoda...you need to explain this on TGC...maybe the new owners will look you up:)

The thing these dudes can't figure out is there are OPTIONS. They don't like what their eyes haven't been trained to see. Chamblee would have more cred on hair commentary than swing analysis. Bless his heart . . . .

tincup2004 06-15-2009 11:02 AM

Congrats to Brian and Lynn on another great effort. After watching most of Sunday's round, all I could think of was 'what a machine' (64 66 66 66).

Good luck at The Black this week Brian!

Lynn if you stop by Chinatown, dinner's on me! :salut:

EdZ 06-15-2009 11:07 AM

Congratulations on the win Brian, Kip and Lynn!

I absolutely loved the 18th. The commentary appropriately shared that nobody other than Tiger Woods in 2000 has won multiple events by so many shots over the field.

Now that is saying something.

And the birdie on 18, what a statement!

Hello World! :)

The Barclays this year is goind to be a blast, I can't wait!

Go get 'em at Bethpage!

Readers & contributors to Yoda's site know that Brian has been playing outstanding golf for quite awhile and has often acknowledged the conteributions of Lynn Blake and Homer Kelly's The Golfing Machine to his success. Winning lets the rest of the world know. Congragulations to Brian and Lynn!

Right on, Drew.

In the past three years or so, I've nosed around in that bag many times. The only changes have been to the TaylorMade R9 (from the R7) and to the Bettinardi (a beautiful, precision-milled product, but essentially the same as his old Rife). The Vokey wedges remain the same, but they are replaced as necessary.

Incidentally, the 56* is bent to 55*, and the 60* is bent to 59*. Plus, as with all TOUR players, Vokey stamps the player's initials into the blade.

This is a nice touch that, once someone at Titleist realizes its marketing potential -- you heard it here -- you will see in more than a few bags near you!

:laughing9

Oh good grief.

Although I don't mind being in the company of the likes of Moe. But I guess the talking hair-do has never seen some guy named George Knudson play either.
