This main platform, 4-hour presentation will be made to more than 600 Swedish PGA professionals. The 20-page brochure describing the event is attached to this post. Lynn and Henning are featured on page 15.

Kwel... 600 - that is a very big group.. That might be the biggest since Homer was kicking about.

metallion 02-04-2006 07:01 PM

Hope to see you there, Lynn!

I'll call the PGA to see if they are willing to sell Yoda-only tickets. Last time I checked they only had full-week tickets.

Unfortunately the full-week ticket will not attract many amateurs.

Awesome. I'd love to see a recording of this one! - EdZ

South of Nacogdoches -- I was 12 years old before I could spell where I was born! -- is Mexico. And Elvis has never been near Sweden.

Try again, Colonel!

I'm sure the Swedish PGA will be taping. I have no idea of the availability or cost of those tapes but will let everybody know ASAP.

LOL!

The place is called Tylösand on the coast between Malmo and Gothembourgh - or a 2-hour drive from Copenhagen.

Map

Famous for:
  • Its beach. Very nice.
  • The nearby golf course "Halmstads Norra" is top-10 in Sweden, no matter who you ask. Many would still hold it as #1.
  • The resort is owned by the Roxette guitarist/writer Per Gessle. His home town Halmstad is just down the road.

Oh. I forgot to say that March is not exactly the best time for beach and golf. :-)

It's always a good time to talk G.O.L.F.

Exactly. And that is what will happen. Had no chance to talk to the PGA today. If I come across some info about getting Yoda-only tickets I'll post here. Maybe someone will consider it worth a journey.

I PM'ed Henning in the fall asking if it was possible to attend the presentation. Unfortunately I haven't heard anything.
If Yoda-only tickets are available for non-Pros, non-swedes, scandinavian TGM-nuts, I'll be first in that line:D

Please let me know.

I'm only 2 hours away from Halmstad. I actually drove through today, on my way home from skiing in Norway.

Oh and Tylösands championship course is actually #2 on the european continent after Valderama in the Peugeot Golf Guide.
But I guess it's not open before april.

Thom,

I'll check out the qualification requirements, daily access and fees and will post the information in this thread. Thanks for your interest and support.

metallion 02-10-2006 07:16 PM

The offical price for the entire 4-day event is 2750 SEK + 25% VAT = SEK 3437. Translates to some US$ 420. According to the event info you play that price regardless of the number of lectures you attend. The price is for lectures only and does not include hotel and food.

I hope the PGA will be able to offer other options once interest is demonstrated.

Any news on the Yoda only tickets??

....still [-o<

henning 03-03-2006 09:32 AM

Tickets!

Tickets are now available for the price of 950 swedish kroner (total). Don´t hesitate to get an Yoda experience. If you decide to show up saturday morning write me a message. You either pay with cash, VISA card or Master card.

Looking forward to meet some TGM friends at Tylösand.

Sincerely,

Henning

YodasLuke 03-07-2006 11:18 PM

off to Sweden

You guys take care of the Master. He's getting on the plane tomorrow afternoon. Understand the sacrifice he'll endure, as our temperatures will be in the 70's all week long with sunny skies. And, enjoy the walking, talking, and living example of TGM.

P.S. If you don't have any Cracker Barrels over there, we might have to send him with a personal stash of grits.
Also, don't give him too much öl.

henning 03-08-2006 05:27 AM

I´ll take care of him. The temperature is just a few degrees below zero:). We don´t have any Cracker Barrels so you will probably meet a very slim Yoda next time you see him. Over here, we only have healthy food;). I suppose we will have a few öl. Hope to see you soon Ted!

Henning

Thom 03-09-2006 09:44 AM

....don't drink the swedish beer...

Are any of the swedish LBG members going to be in Halmstad saturday?

I'm not able to make it, unfortunately. I would have loved to shake hands with the green guy.

Are you going to film the presentation? and if you are, are you going to make it available in some way?

metallion 03-10-2006 02:54 PM

Airlines aren't what they used to be

I would certainly have gone, but it'd have to be a touch and go. Unfortunately there are no flights Stockholm-Halmstad until lunchtime and even if I'd left Friday I'd have to stay until Sunday. No chance for me. Looking forward to hear about how the presentation was received.

Henning,

Definitely let us know how it went...it will be great to see a wave of new Swedish/European golfers join Lynn's website after his presentation...

Interesting

600 pros said to be there for the week. TGM is certainly not for everyone (although it is...), but if the full 600 attended I'd expect a bunch of them to join the following days.

Sitting around to hear how the event unfolded. I am sure some were impressed and interested. As I am sure that TGM was instantly repelled by some. At least that's how it normally goes.

YodasLuke 03-12-2006 10:47 PM

He's baaaaaack!

I just talked to Master Yoda, as he was driving back from the Atlanta airport. He said everything went well. I'll let him elaborate, but we're glad to have the green guy back! A few days in the swamp, and he'll be back to normal. ;)

Welcome home!

Dogbreath 03-13-2006 08:56 AM

Thanks

Dear Yoda,

thanks a bunch for a very inspirational session at the Swedish PGA Teaching Summit. :D For myself it was virtually impossible to read TGM on my own, but having heard both you and Henning the fog is lifting somewhat. Like I mentioned after dinner, my old coach at University of Tampa may be a kindred spirit. I'm sure he'd enjoy some discussions.
Take care!

Moment to cherish!

Being around Lynn for 3 days is just fantastic. Then you really realize his brilliance. I have been fortunate to have met and learn from the Master himself.

To see Lynn 2.30 in the morning giving a lesson at the bar with a gin and tonic in one hand and the other hand guiding the student is just priceless. The guy who got the lesson was found at the toilet making notes at 3 am. He didn´t want to wake up his room mate. The next day he told me that it was the best lesson he ever had. To see Lynn removing his tie to show "Extensor Action" is another moment I will treasure. The whole evening went on like this. Lynn was surrounded by people most of the evening and night. And Lynn was always there to inform and explain.

As you all understand, the 3 1/2 hour presentation earlier that day was just fantastic. For you that have met Lynn know that a person with more knowledge of The Golfing Machine does NOT exist. What a performance he put on.

My task was to run the slides. Lynn, maybe you would like to tell everyone about the Power Point presentation and the reason you just got one hour sleep before the presentation. It´s incredible that you could have that energy on the stage with just one hour sleep. Dowels were broken and dowels were flying. People were laughing and people were thinking. You really made an Impact on people.

I´m so glad it was you that presented The Golfing Machine for the Swedish PGA.

Henning

Hej Henning,

I second your comment, especially after having met and spoken to a number of GSEDs and GSEMs.

Choosing a mentor is not something that I take lightly. Yoda is, without question, THE MASTER!
